Getting up to Date on Your Vaccines
Everyone six months and older should get a flu shot once a year. Getting the flu shot helps protect you, your family and your community. Some people are at a higher risk of getting very sick from the flu, including older adults, people with certain medical conditions, and children under 5.
Flu vaccines are widely available at pharmacies, doctors’ offices, and other places where you can get vaccinated.
You can get your flu vaccine at the same time as other vaccines, including COVID-19.
If you are 65 or older, contact your doctor or local pharmacy to find out which vaccine is right for you. When available, people 65 and older should get a higher dose flu vaccine.
Vaccines can protect you from getting seriously ill. If you do get sick when you have had the vaccine your symptoms can be milder and not as long lasting. If you remember to wash your hands often, cover your mouth when you cough and nose when you sneeze, and stay home if you are sick your family will be able to spend more fun times together.
Remember that COVID-19 is the only vaccine covered by Dr. Dynasaur at Vermont pharmacies.
